CBT-I is the gold standard, evidence-based treatment for chronic insomnia. It is highly effective for people who have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early.
CBT-I addresses the underlying habits, patterns, and routines that keep insomnia going, helping you achieve restorative sleep without medication. If sleep has been a persistent struggle, CBT-I is likely worth trying. -

CBT-I is a short-term treatment. Most clients see considerable improvements in their sleep within 4-6; some require even fewer. Your timeline will depend on your sleep patterns and the consistency with which the strategies are applied.

All sessions are offered online through SimplePractice, a HIPAA-compliant platform.

Sleep therapy sessions are structured yet flexible and typically last 60 minutes. The first session focuses on understanding your current sleep habits, challenges, and goals, and introducing the process of keeping a sleep diary. Most clients use the “CBT-I Coach” app from the VA; some choose paper and pencil forms.
In follow-up sessions, we review your sleep diary data, identify patterns and progress, and determine action steps to support improved sleep between sessions. -
I do not bill insurance directly. I am happy to provide a superbill that you may submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Coverage varies, so please check with your insurance provider about benefits for occupational therapy or insomnia treatment. I am happy to share billing codes in advance if you would like to check your out-of-network benefits.

I completed the CBT-I provider training through the Sleep Health and Insomnia Program at Stanford University. I have been a licensed occupational therapist since 2011 and am a Certified Health Education Specialist through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. I also train other providers - doctors, therapists, psychologists - in collaborative communication approaches.
